We have arrived!

The day has finally come and we are now in Belize. The flight was uneventful although the Belize customs experience was interesting. We got stuck at customs in the Belize airport for over 4 hours when one of the minor release forms was flagged. That prevented the one family from getting through customs until a new form could be faxed. It finally came and then we took the 90 minute bus ride to Roaring Creek. Along the way, we saw a few sites, including the mountain range commonly referred to as "Sleeping Giant".

Upon arrival, we immediately went to the dining hall (thatched-roof, open-air mess hall) for a wonderful dinner (Chicken, Rice & Beans, Fried Plantains, Potato Salad and 2 type of cake... Chocolate & Pineapple). Then we got a quick briefing on the compound and the sleeping arrangements and then everyone got settled in to their rooms. There are two types of rooms 1) dorm-style and 2) cabana. The dorms have A/C, the cabanas have fans (it is VERY hot and VERY humid here).

All, in all, its been a great first day as we get settled in for our ministry this week. Tomorrow will an action-packed day of Church in both the morning and evening, along with some ministry and planning for a trip later in the week to a very remote village of Garage.

"Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you." Matthew 28:19-20

Hi everyone!
I smile as I read your blog and remember fondly the thatched-roof dining area of Camp Uriah. Please say hello to Yevette, Joel, Damaris and "Grandpa" for me!
May God bless you on your trip. May you ALL be a blessing to the people of Belize. We continue to pray for God's hand on your journey. May He use you and the puppets mightily to take the gospel to the people.
In His love,
Denise
